Dehradun has a comprehensive institutional setup with over 25 established institutions in the fields of environment, medicine, law, geology, forest, technology, defense, energy, etc. that labels it as the most sought-after hub of knowledge and public services. Thus, known as the “school capital of India” -for its world-class institutes propagating a method of learning well ahead of its time. Dehradun has prided itself on the amalgamation of “education in the lap of nature” with the backdrop of the natural environment of the Himalayas. Various government and non-government organizations have been working towards incorporating wildlife, biodiversity, and health along with education which has set the current context of Dehradun. The site was reserved to develop a large multi-disciplinary research center and an institute to support its studies.  Along with it, the remaining site was reserved for A large-scale National public library. To refrain from disturbing the local tree line over the forest located on the site, an organic pattern was used to place the buildings. this gave rise to a new design typology which was continued throughout the design.
